Product Introduction

Cetylpyridinium  Chloride  (CPC),  commonly  known  as  CPC,  belongs  to  the  class  of  quaternary ammonium salts. It serves as a broad-spectrum, safe, and efficient bactericide as a cationic surfactant. At  low  doses,  it  exhibits  broad-spectrum  bactericidal  effects  against  both  Gram-positive  and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as fungi. As an antibacterial agent, it effectively prevents and reduces plaque formation induced by oral bacteria such as streptococci, lactobacilli, staphylococci, and bacilli. When incorporated into oral care products, it provides sustained and effective prevention of dental plaque and reduction of gingivitis.

This  ingredient  features mild  acidity  and  is  easy to handle, biodegradable,  odorless,  soluble,  and exhibits good stability. It is non-corrosive, VOC-free, and lacks oxidative compounds. It can serve as an  excellent  alternative  to  formaldehyde  donors,  parabens,  triclosan,  triclocarban,  benzalkonium chloride, and chlorhexidine gluconate as a bactericidal/antibacterial raw material.
