Benzalkonium chloride (BKC), a quaternary ammonium compound, is a broad-spectrum, highly effective bactericide in the cationic surfactant class. In aqueous solutions, it dissociates into cationic active groups that exhibit cleaning and disinfecting properties. This compound demonstrates rapid and potent bactericidal action with low toxicity, minimal irritation to skin and mucous membranes, and works by altering bacterial plasma membrane permeability to cause extracellular leakage, thereby disrupting metabolic processes. It shows particularly strong efficacy against Gram-positive bacteria. Primarily used for disinfecting skin, wounds, mucous membranes, and surgical instruments, BAC also serves as a preservative in wet wipes and as an antimicrobial agent in liquid formulations.

Product Use
Medical field: hand disinfection, skin and mucous membrane disinfection, air and general surface disinfection, surface disinfection and sanitary wipes, antibacterial preparations;

Matters Need Attention
Benzalkonium chloride should not be used with anionic detergents such as soap or synthetic detergents, nor should it be combined with inorganic salts (citrate, iodide, nitrate, permanganate, salicylate, zinc sulfate, silver salts, tartrate, or alkaloids). It is unsuitable for disinfecting instruments like cystoscopes, ophthalmic equipment, rubber, or leather, and aluminum containers should be avoided. Contraindications include combining with aluminum, sodium fluorescein, hydrogen peroxide, kaolin, lanolin, and certain sulfonamides.
Packaging and Storage
- Packaging: This product is packaged in 25kg cartons.
- Storage:Storein a cool, dry, and well ventilated warehouse at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep away from ignition sources and heat. Ensure packaging remains sealed. Store separately from flammable materials, acids, and similar substances—mixing is strictly prohibited. The storage area should have suitable containment materials for spills. Regularly check all labels for clarity and verify no leaks. Shelf life: 2 years.
